My world from my world

What is photography? A track, or trace, or perhaps just coloured dots? What worlds and histories lie within it?

During the lesson we will search for, find, give a name to and create a new photographic reality together. We’ll see Taryn Simon’s exhibition The Picture Collection, and make photo collages: cut out, glue, join together and talk about them.

Participants will be asked to bring with them 15 photographs, ideally in A4 format (a self-portrait or one of your mum, dad or granddads, holiday snaps, photos from private events, your toy, room or house). The photos you bring will be put together to form a photo collage. Registration on a first-come, first-served basis.

Basia Budniak – a photographer who for several years has been running photography workshops for children and young people. Has worked with the Children’s University, Bunkier Sztuki and the National Museum in Krakow. In 2006-2013 she worked with the Foundation for Visual Arts on the organisation of Krakow Photomonth.
